Hull ‘Legacy’ funeral directors: How can people trust Rosedale?
Like many people, we have been deeply saddened by the horrendous events in Hull. Hearing the statements from the families affected has been heartbreaking. The actions of one individual have caused unimaginable and lifelong pain to people who entrusted him with the care of those they loved most. Our thoughts are with every family whose trust was so profoundly broken.
Many people are understandably asking how they can be sure their loved one will be cared for properly. We feel strongly that families should never have to rely on trust alone.
That is why we have always chosen to be independently inspected and assessed. We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and are committed not only to complying with its Code of Practice, but also to the values and principles that sit behind it. We are also independently recommended by the Good Funeral Guide, whose inspectors described Rosedale by saying:
“The people who have died are cared for here with the greatest care and respect. These are among the most caring funeral homes we have ever seen. It’s a respectful, personal and humane approach.”

Accreditation can provide some level of reassurance that our standards are independently examined, but ultimately, standards are about people, not certificates.
Every person entrusted into the care of Rosedale is someone’s mum, dad, husband, wife, child or friend. They deserve the highest standards of care, and that is the promise we make every single day.
The photograph with this post shows the pledge displayed on the door of every Rosedale mortuary. It isn’t there for our clients to see. It’s there for us. Every member of our team passes those words before entering, reminding us that behind those doors is someone’s loved one. We don’t simply read that commitment. We live and breathe it.
That is the promise we make, and the standard we hold ourselves accountable to every day.
