Hannah Wroe Gill – bespoke ceremony writing
Sometimes it can be hard to find the write words to use in a tribute or eulogy. Although Rosedale are lucky to work with many ministers, celebrants and humanists who can guide a family, Hannah Wroe Gill can assist if a family would like a little more help.
The nature of her bespoke writing means anyone, anywhere, can hire her to write for them, their family or their friends – she don’t need to be physically present at any point.
‘The piece of writing Hannah created about my mum for her funeral was very special. It was so beautifully written and really captured who my mum was and how she approached life. Thank you so much again for everything Hannah.’ Sarah and Kirk
‘I just wanted to thank you. You did a remarkable job. Listening to the eulogy you wrote brought back so many happy memories of Phil, it was a fantastic tribute. You gave him the best send off ever. Forever Grateful.’ Carolyn
“My name is Hannah Wroe Gill and I’m a professional writer with 14 years’ experience and 500+ 5 star reviews, based in West Yorkshire. I create beautiful bespoke ceremony writing written with nominated contributors’ words that complements any type of funeral, whether Vicar, Celebrant or family-led. I can write for anyone, anywhere, nationwide and internationally. I love what I do.
Within the usual limitations, most Vicars and Celebrants gather information verbally with standard questions. That has its place, but other clients want more than an overview of their loved one’s life. Some wish to take ownership of the writing but are unsure how to do it. Others want to involve family members or friends not present at the initial meeting so they still have chance to input in a meaningful way. Most would rather know all that’s possible first, not just revert to a default option.
My aim is to offer that choice, but also the support bereaved families need, taking responsibility for organising and creating whatever text we’ve agreed on. This means clients can focus instead on expressing their thoughts and feelings, in their own time, coming together in tribute through their words no matter where they’re based geographically. Everything about my approach makes for more effective writing e.g. I find out about the person who has died before I create the questions we need.
My offer includes full bespoke ceremony scripts (should family members or friends wish to lead the ceremony themselves), bespoke eulogies, central tributes and readings. They can all be written with a select few contributors or a wider group, it really depends on the effect we’re trying to achieve.
Recently, a lovely Vicar in London actually explained where the central funeral tribute she was about to read had come from, appreciating that the 2,000 word document, written with the words of 8 different family members, contributed a unique level of detail, depth and colour to proceedings. It could of course have been read by one or more family members or friends.
However, smaller bespoke texts that are part of a wider already-scripted service can be just as powerful, simply involving two or three contributors if preferred. So bespoke writing really can offer solace and add gravitas or a light-hearted touch within any situation.
I also work with people who might, for whatever reason, wish to plan their own funeral – potentially agreeing the general outline with them and working with contributors they’ve nominated in advance of their death.
I feel so privileged to do this work, passionate about extending my writing’s reach. If you are intrigued by the difference bespoke writing could make to a funeral, memorial or interment of ashes you have planned, just get in touch. All you need have is the sense that the process of creating bespoke writing might suit your circumstances. Everything else we can work out together through an exchange of emails or an obligation-free pre-booked chat.”
