A Wonderful Evening of Food, Fun and Fundraising for Waveney Shims
On Saturday 15th August 2026, Rosedale Funeral Home hosted our annual Come Dine With Me fundraising evening, raising an incredible £5,196.00 for our 2026 charity, Waveney Shims.
Waveney Shims is a wonderful local charity that supports people living with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as their families and carers. The charity works hard to reduce isolation and loneliness by providing twice-monthly meetings, activities and outings, helping those who attend to continue living their best lives, enjoying new experiences and being part of a caring and supportive community.
We were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by our local community.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated auction prizes, including John Doe of Diss, Ovamill, Ian Hale, David Baker, Beccles Lido, Big Dog Ferry, Beccles, Natalie & Roy Carthew, Lucy & John Winter, Waveney House Hotel, Harris & James, Durrants Estate Agents, The Olive Tree in Kirby Cane, Discovery Tutors, Philippa Drew, Southwold Cycle Hire, Petra Howe, Vicky Russ, Stewart Lee, Lyn Oakes and Fosters Solicitors.
We would also like to give a very special thank you to Simon & Anne Beckett-Allen, who hosted the evening and helped make it such a success. Behind the scenes, we had a fabulous team of volunteers who gave their time both in the preparation leading up to the event and throughout the evening itself. There are far too many people to name individually, but please know that every contribution was genuinely appreciated and, on the night, we were delighted to personally thank everyone involved.
The excitement began well before the evening itself, with a fantastic number of commission bids placed in advance. This set the scene for a lively and entertaining auction, brilliantly led by the very talented Edward Taxil-Webber of TW Gaze Auctioneers.
Thanks to the generosity of our guests, donors, volunteers and everyone who supported the evening, we raised an extraordinary £5,196.00 for Waveney Shims.
We cannot thank everyone involved enough. Your generosity will make a real difference to a fantastic local charity and the people and families it supports.
And this is only the beginning!
