What is a standardised funeral?
The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) completed an in-depth market investigation into the funerals sector and one of the recommendations is that ALL funeral directors must provide their prices in a standardised format, making it easier for bereaved families to compare costs between providers and choose the right service for their loved ones.
At Rosedale, we have always tried to be upfront and transparent about our costs, and believe they are fair and provide value for money. As such, we support the decision of the CMA and have worked hard to ensure we meet all their recommendations.
The standardised funeral must reflect the simplest options, and as such does not reflect the full range of services that we can offer.
What is Rosedale’s Standardised Funeral?
Our standardised funeral may suit people who would like a very simple funeral, or where cost is an important factor.
In order to offer this reduced cost funeral, there are several restrictions:
- The coffin is as described and cannot be changed
- The funeral will take place at 10am or earlier, or 3pm onwards
- No alternative vehicles or limousine/s
- The hearse will leave from the Rosedale branch and travel directly to the funeral venue
- Visits to the Chapel of Rest will take place within office hours
- There are limits to the additional options available in a standardised funeral
- Donations will only be accepted online through our Much Loved tribute site
- This is a package funeral and there will be no deductions made for services not used
It is not possible to alter or deviate from the specification, so please take careful note of the restrictions to ensure it is the right choice for you and your family.
For more information, please see our Standardised Funeral Booklet below, or call any one of our branches where we will be able to talk you through the options, or post you a copy of the below.
