Repatriation
Repatriation is where a person who has died needs to be moved from one country to another. Each country has their own legal, practical and logistical requirements, and at a challenging and often unexpected time, this can feel overwhelming.
We have helped many families repatriate their loved ones. We can offer guidance on what to expect, give support throughout the entire process and will keep you informed every step of the way..
If you need more information on repatriating a loved one, then please contact us to find out more.
Exhumation
Exhumation is where a buried body or cremated remains are to be removed or disturbed. It is a very involved process and requires either a licence from the Ministry of Justice, or permission from the Diocesan Court, along with other specific permissions. Although exhumation is very rare, we do have experience in organising and guiding families through this delicate process to ensure it is carried out as sensitively as possible.
If you are considering an exhumation, then please contact us as we can offer further guidance on your specific situation.
Burial at Sea
There are three designated burial sites in England: Newhaven in East Sussex, The Needles Spoil Ground near the Isle of Wight and Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear. Although burial at sea tends to be chosen by those who have a maritime connection, it is an option for everyone so long as the specific requirements and permissions are met.
If you would like to talk through the options further, then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
