What is a standardised funeral?

Although Rosedale has always been transparent and open about funeral options and their associated costs, many funeral directors were not. Following a long investigation, the Competition and Markets Authority ordered that from 16th September 2021, all funeral directors must display a standardised price list, the layout and wording of which cannot be altered in any way. 

What is Rosedale’s standardised funeral? 

Our standardised funeral may suit people who would like a very simple funeral, or where cost is an important factor.

In order to offer this reduced cost funeral, there are several restrictions:

  • No limousines or additional/alternative vehicles
  • The coffin cannot be changed 
  • No provision of additional services such as service sheets or newspaper notices
  • The funeral will take place at 10am or earlier, or 3pm onwards 
  • The hearse will travel directly to the funeral venue

It is not possible to alter or deviate from the specification, so please take careful note of the restrictions to ensure it is the right choice for you and your family.
