Service of Remembrance – Wymondham- 2026

Event details

December 8, 2026

“We are trying to strike a balance between remembering those we have lost but remembering happy memories and trying to find some joy this Christmas. Knowing that we are not alone and together we can find a way through the grief.”

Michelle, from the Rosedale branch in Wymondham

At Rosedale Funeral Home, our annual Services of Remembrance are very special occasions within our community calendar. They offer a time for reflection and comfort at what can be a difficult time of year. At our Wymondham service, you can be assured of a warm welcome, and if you have any concerns at all, please contact Michelle at our Wymondham branch on 01953 601103 who will be happy to answer any questions you might have to ensure you feel comfortable and included.

When is it taking place?

This year, our Wymondham Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday 8th December at 7.00pm at Wymondham Baptist Church (NR18 0AY). It is open to everyone, no matter how long ago the bereavement or which funeral director was used.

Where is it going to be held?

Once again, we have been fortunate enough to secure the Baptist Church in Wymondham for the service. Close to the town centre, the church is made up of people from all walks of life, and are very active in the local community. Indeed, Rosedale have successfully run their bereavement support groups within the church for many years.

The Service

Led by Pastor Paul Smith,
We are fortunate to have Reverend Paul Smith lead the service where there will be readings and poems.

Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree
A key feature of the service will be our Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree, a tradition that many families have found comforting over the years. Guests are invited to write the names of loved ones, or a short message of remembrance, on tags which can then be hung on the tree.

Candle lighting
During the service, there will also be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved one. This simple act often brings a quiet sense of peace, allowing a few moments of personal reflection. As the candles gently glow, it is a reminder that even in the darkness of grief, there is hope.

Refreshments
After the service, we warmly invite everyone to stay for light refreshments. This is often a chance to talk with others who understand what it means to grieve, to share memories, or simply to sit and listen in the company of those who care. Our Rosedale team will be there to offer a friendly face and a listening ear to anyone who may need it.
