“The Rosedale Christmas Service of Remembrance is a gentle light in the winter darkness. A time to come together, remember our loved ones and find comfort in shared memories. I personally love how it unites those who are grieving, reminding us that even in loss we are not alone.”
Faith, from the Rosedale branch in Halesworth
At Rosedale Funeral Home, our annual Services of Remembrance are very special occasions within our community calendar. They offer a time for reflection and comfort at what can be a difficult time of year. At our Halesworth service, you can be assured of a warm welcome, and if you have any concerns at all, please contact Faith at our Halesworth branch on 01986 875588 who will be happy to answer any questions you might have to ensure you feel comfortable and included.
When is it taking place?
This year, our Halesworth Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday 4th December at 6.00pm at St Mary’s Church, Halesworth (IP19 8LL). It is open to everyone, no matter how long ago the bereavement or which funeral director was used.
Where is it going to be held?
Once again, we have been fortunate enough to secure St. Mary’s Church in Halesworth for the service.
The Service
Led by Reverend Dominic Doble
We are fortunate to have Reverend Dominic Doble leading the service, especially as this is his first position as an ordained Minister. He has said that he hopes to be a service to the communities in which he has been placed, and so our service is a perfect start .
Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree
A key feature of the service will be our Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree, a tradition that many families have found comforting over the years. Guests are invited to write the names of loved ones, or a short message of remembrance, on tags which can then be hung on the tree.
Candle lighting
During the service, there will also be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved one. This simple act often brings a quiet sense of peace, allowing a few moments of personal reflection. As the candles gently glow, it is a reminder that even in the darkness of grief, there is hope.
Refreshments
After the service, we warmly invite everyone to stay for light refreshments This is often a chance to talk with others who understand what it means to grieve, to share memories, or simply to sit and listen in the company of those who care. Our Rosedale team will be there to offer a friendly face and a listening ear to anyone who may need it.
