Christmas Service Attleborough 2026

“Our Christmas Remembrance Service is a special time, where we can come together to remember our loved ones at a difficult time of the year.”

Anna, from the Rosedale branch in Attleborough

At Rosedale Funeral Home, our annual Services of Remembrance are very special occasions within our community calendar. They offer a time for reflection and comfort at what can be a difficult time of year. At our Attleborough service, you can be assured of a warm welcome, and if you have any concerns at all, please contact Anna at our Attleborough branch on 01953 452538 who will be happy to answer any questions you might have to ensure you feel comfortable and included.

When is it taking place?

This year, our Attleborough Service of Remembrance will take place on Sunday 13th December at 3pm at St Mary’s Church, Attleborough (NR17 2AH). It is open to everyone, no matter how long ago the bereavement or which funeral director was used.

Where is it going to be held?

Once again, we have been fortunate enough to secure St. Mary’s Church in Attleborough for the service.  The church has stood on the site of St Mary’s since Saxon times and today, the building continues to be a centre for the community as well as a place of pilgrimage, worship and prayer.

The Service

Led by Reverend Canon Matthew Jackson
We are fortunate to have Reverend Canon Matthew Jackson lead the service as well as the wonderful choir of St. Mary’s. Alongside the usual service remembering loved ones, names of loved ones will be read out in remembrance.

Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree
A key feature of the service will be our Rosedale Christmas Memorial Tree, a tradition that many families have found comforting over the years. Guests are invited to write the names of loved ones, or a short message of remembrance, on tags which can then be hung on the tree.

Candle lighting
During the service, there will also be an opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved one. This simple act often brings a quiet sense of peace, allowing a few moments of personal reflection. As the candles gently glow, it is a reminder that even in the darkness of grief, there is hope.

Refreshments
After the service, we warmly invite everyone to stay for tea, coffee, mulled wine and sausage rolls from the local butcher, Tony Perkins. This is often a chance to talk with others who understand what it means to grieve, to share memories, or simply to sit and listen in the company of those who care. Our Rosedale team will be there to offer a friendly face and a listening ear to anyone who may need it.
