Simon Hardy

Simon Hardy joined Rosedale in February 2025 as a Funeral Operative based at the Attleborough and Wymondham branches. Prior to this he worked in the telecommunications sector for 34 years, 24 years with the same company. Simon moved from Derby to Fressingfield, in Suffolk, in 1989 where he and his family settled when they bought The Swan Inn, however, family circumstances resulted in a return to telecommunications until 2018. At this juncture in his life he made a decision to try a different career path being a partner in a garage business and latterly worked as a gardener/handyman for 4 years.

His role as a Funeral Operative involves bringing the deceased into our care from nursing homes, residential addresses and hospitals, coffin preparation and the care of the deceased which includes dressing/preparation and viewings in our Chapel of Rest. He feels honoured and privileged to be caring for the deceased in a respectful and dignified manner on their final journey.

Simon is married to Ashley and they live in Harleston with their little dog Beanie. They have four children and five grandchildren, who are a joy. Simon and Ashley have a love of the campervan life and get away to VW festivals and for weekends whenever possible. DIY, gardening and a passion for collectibles/antiques also fill any spare time.
